Our Leadership Formation Programmes – BC Ireland
Programme Overview
The Executive Leadership Circle is a professional learning community that fosters collaboration and coherence among Catholic educational stakeholders and provides a forum for addressing current challenges and opportunities through in-person learning experiences throughout the year. It currently engages 15 system leaders in collegial and challenging growth experiences, small group discussions, and problem-based learning activities focused on critical issues such as governance, inclusive learning, and modern leadership challenges.
A first cohort of 24 current school leaders gather from across primary and post primary sectors from all over Ireland, north and south. The fellowship focuses on three core pillars of leadership: School Culture, Leading Learning and Teaching, and Executive Leadership. Key outcomes include the ability to unite a community around shared values, build vibrant professional learning teams, and implement strategic plans that align the school's mission with its daily operations. It provides skills, strategies and confidence to lead transformational schools. This year-long professional learning programme cultivates a community of leaders committed to learning and growing together.
Offered in partnership with the Joint Managerial Body, the School Culture Collaborative is currently offering 24 senior leaders from 8 schools a year-long programme to explore how to create and maintain vibrant and purposeful learning environments. It empowers senior leadership teams to cultivate intentional, joyful, and mission driven school cultures. Leaders learn to strengthen internal leadership capacity within their schools. They hone the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to help transform how they operate as senior leadership team themselves and how they lead other teams within their schools. They learn how to develop a shared vision for leadership, empower adult learners, lead teams, leverage data together and implement change. They also join a dynamic network of school leaders committed to growth.
Community & Network Events
“ A recent retreat, hosted in AVÕïËù College Ireland’s beautiful Georgian building on St. Stephen’s Green, provided an opportunity to pause and take stock after what is always an incredibly busy first term in school. Personal and professional development comes in many forms, and increasingly through digital platforms. However, from my own perspective, gathering together in person, sharing insights and opinions, is invaluable. It is this personal touch that makes the retreat experience unique and assists to build community. I look forward to more opportunities to retreat in the times ahead. ”
